Best AI Email Assistants in 2026: 10 Compared

Samih Sghier, FounderPublished October 11, 2026

The best AI email assistant for a business inbox is InboxPilot (we make it). It drafts replies in Gmail or Outlook from your own documents, website, Google Sheets, Shopify orders and Stripe invoices, so answers about prices, orders and billing come from your records.

For one person's inbox, Fyxer and Superhuman Mail draft in your voice. If the problem is clutter rather than replies, SaneBox sorts mail and drafts nothing.

If you already pay for Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, try Copilot in Outlook or Gemini in Gmail first. Each price is the cheapest plan that drafts replies, from the vendor's pricing page on October 11, 2026. We did not run paid trials.

Our pick: InboxPilot

InboxPilot is an AI email assistant for Gmail and Outlook built for the inbox a business answers from. It sorts each new email by what it asks and drafts the reply from your own documents and the systems behind them.

Each draft waits for a person to approve it. When a reply should go out on its own, you can turn on auto-replies. It's SOC 2 Type II certified, and your email never trains AI models.

Starter is $39 a month after a 7-day free trial, and Growth is $99 a month with auto-replies and up to 5 team members.

It doesn't book meetings or take meeting notes, so keep a scheduling tool if that's the part of an assistant you lean on.

If it's your own inbox

Fyxer: one person's inbox and meetings

Fyxer is an AI email assistant for one person's Gmail or Outlook inbox. It sorts email into categories, drafts replies in your tone and records meetings to write the follow-up.

Fyxer Pro is $49 a person a month, or $37 billed annually. The Free plan gives 400 credits a month but doesn't draft replies, and working across several inboxes needs Team, at $99 a person.

Our Fyxer alternatives guide compares it head to head with Superhuman and Copilot.

Superhuman Mail: a faster email app

Superhuman Mail is a separate email app for Gmail and Outlook accounts, built to get through mail quickly with split inboxes and reminders.

Starter is $30 a member a month. Auto drafts, which write replies before you open an email, need Business at $40 a member, or $33 billed annually.

Shortwave: AI search and writing for Gmail

Shortwave is an email app for Gmail and Google Workspace. It searches your history with AI, summarizes threads and writes in your style.

Microsoft 365 and Exchange accounts aren't supported, and Outlook.com mail only arrives by forwarding it into Gmail.

Pro is $18 a seat a month, with a free plan below it and business plans from $30 a seat.

Jace: a cheaper assistant, metered in credits

Jace is an AI email assistant that runs on top of Gmail and Outlook, Microsoft 365 and Outlook.com included, according to Jace's documentation. You choose Draft with AI on a thread to get a full reply in your voice, and it can draft a follow-up when a conversation stalls.

Plus is $25 a month, or $20 billed yearly, with 10,000 credits, up to 2 inboxes and a 7-day free trial. Jace says it never trains AI models on your email.

If you already pay for Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace

Copilot in Outlook: Microsoft 365 companies

Copilot is Microsoft's AI assistant inside Outlook for Microsoft 365 business accounts. To draft, you open the Copilot menu, choose Draft, describe the email and click Generate (Microsoft Support). Nothing is written before you ask.

The Microsoft 365 Copilot Business add-on is $21 a user a month on a yearly plan, or $18 in the first year on purchases through December 31, 2026. It needs an eligible Microsoft 365 Business plan.

Our Outlook AI assistant comparison covers the other options for Outlook.

Gemini in Gmail: Google Workspace companies

Gemini is Google's AI assistant in Gmail, included with Google Workspace business plans from Business Starter at $7 a user a month. It finds mail, summarizes threads and writes drafts.

To draft, you type a prompt in Compose and click Create (Google Help). Like Copilot, it writes when you ask rather than before you open the email.

If a team shares the inbox

Missive: a shared inbox app with AI on usage

Missive is an email app where a team shares inboxes, assigns conversations and comments on them, with SMS and WhatsApp in the same place. It works with Gmail, Outlook and other accounts.

AI drafts and AI rules start on Productive, at $24 a user a month billed yearly. You pay for AI usage on top, with prepaid Missive credits or your own OpenAI, Anthropic or Google key.

Gmelius: AI on every plan, Gmail only

Gmelius is a shared inbox and AI assistant that works inside Gmail. It drafts, sorts and takes meeting notes for teams, and it works only with Gmail and Google Workspace.

AI comes with every plan, starting with Meli at $21 a user a month, or $19 billed annually, and new accounts get 7 days of the Growth plan.

Both charge per seat, while InboxPilot's Growth plan includes up to 5 team members at one price. For tools built around assignment, see our shared inbox software comparison.

If the problem is volume, not replies

SaneBox: an AI email organizer that never drafts

SaneBox calls itself an AI email management service. It moves unimportant mail out of your inbox into folders such as SaneLater, sends a daily digest and unsubscribes you in one click, in any email client.

Snack is $9.49 a month for one account, or $4.54 a month billed every two years, after a 7-day free trial. It doesn't write replies, so pair it with a drafting tool if replies are the slow part.
