Richpanel Alternatives for Small Shopify Stores: 6 Compared
Samih Sghier, FounderPublished October 29, 2026
The best Richpanel alternative for a small Shopify store is InboxPilot (we make it). It drafts replies from your Shopify orders and return policy inside Gmail or Outlook, so you approve and send from the inbox you already use, from $39 a month flat instead of $99 per agent per month.
Richpanel is built for stores doing high volume across email, chat, phone and social, where the self-service portal deflects 20-30% of tickets before they reach an agent. If you're a solo owner or a 2-3 person team answering mostly email, the $99/seat/mo minimum is more than you need.
Prices below are from each vendor's pricing page, checked October 29, 2026. We did not run paid trials.
| Tool | Works with | Price | Main limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| InboxPilot (our pick) | Gmail, Outlook | $39/mo flat (Starter), $99/mo with Shopify | No self-service portal or phone |
| Richpanel, for reference | Own interface | $99/agent/mo | High per-seat minimum; built for scale |
| Gorgias | Own interface | $10/mo for 50 tickets, $60 for 300 | Volume-based pricing can be unpredictable |
| Help Scout | Own app | $25/agent/mo (Standard), $45 with AI Assist | Not Shopify-native; order data via app |
| Re:amaze | Own interface | $29/mo (1 agent), $69 (Pro, 1-2 agents) | AI features only on Pro and up |
| Zendesk | Own app | $19/agent/mo, AI Copilot from $50 | Enterprise product, longer setup |
| Front | Gmail, Outlook, own app | $25/seat/mo, AI Copilot from $45 | Not Shopify-native; order data via Zapier |
Our pick: InboxPilot
InboxPilot is an AI email assistant for Gmail and Outlook that connects to the inbox your Shopify store already uses. When a customer email arrives asking about an order, a return or a refund, it looks up that customer's Shopify orders, tracking and your store's return policy, then drafts the reply for you to approve and send.
You stay in Gmail or Outlook. The draft appears as a reply in the thread, and you edit or send it from there.
It doesn't issue the refund, create the return label, or provide a self-service portal; you still handle refunds and returns in Shopify, and customers still email you for status. What it saves is the lookup and the typing. For Shopify refund and return emails, that's the slow part.
Starter is $39 a month after a 7-day free trial. Growth is $99 a month with Shopify order lookups, auto-replies, and unlimited workflows. Every plan includes unlimited team members; extra inboxes are $15/mo each.
The limit: It doesn't handle chat, phone, or provide a self-service portal, so if customers expect those channels, you need one of the multichannel options below. The drafting itself is explained on the AI email replies page.
What Richpanel does, and what it costs in October 2026
Richpanel is a customer service platform for Shopify, BigCommerce and WooCommerce stores. It combines a helpdesk (email, live chat, phone, social channels) with a self-service portal where customers check order status, start returns, track shipments and cancel orders without emailing you.
Agents see the customer's orders in the Richpanel dashboard and can edit orders, issue refunds, and cancel shipments without switching to Shopify admin.
Pricing is $99 per agent per month, billed yearly, with AI features (auto-tagging, suggested replies, and AI Copilot for drafts) included. There's a free 14-day trial.
When Richpanel makes sense: Stores doing enough volume (500+ tickets a month) to justify $99/agent/mo, and stores where a self-service portal deflects 20-30% of tickets before they reach an agent. A store answering 50 emails a week won't get $99 of value from it.
If you want a lower per-seat cost
Gorgias: Shopify-native helpdesk, priced by volume
Gorgias is a helpdesk built for Shopify stores. It brings email, live chat, phone, SMS, Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp into one dashboard with the customer's order data next to every conversation.
Pricing is by ticket volume: $10/mo for 50 tickets, $25 for 150, $60 for 300, $160 for 800, $360 for 2,000, then Custom pricing. All tiers are month-to-month. The AI Agent that auto-replies costs $0.85 to $1.00 per interaction on top of your plan.
Best for: Stores that need multichannel support priced by volume rather than per seat. At 100 tickets a month, Gorgias is $25/mo total; Richpanel is $99/agent/mo minimum. Volume-based pricing gets less predictable as you grow, but it's cheaper at the start.
Gorgias alternatives compares Gorgias to the other helpdesks below and the inbox-native option above.
Help Scout: email and chat helpdesk, $25/agent/mo
Help Scout is a shared inbox and helpdesk with email, live chat and a knowledge base. It works with Shopify via an app that shows order data in the sidebar, but it's not Shopify-native like Richpanel or Gorgias.
Standard is $25 per agent per month, with AI Summarize and Drafts on every tier. Plus is $45 per agent per month with AI Assist (fuller drafts that pull from your docs).
Best for: Teams that want a full helpdesk at $25/agent/mo instead of $99, and teams that answer across multiple platforms (Shopify, WordPress, custom) rather than Shopify only. No self-service portal.
Re:amaze: email, chat and social for small teams
Re:amaze is a helpdesk for ecommerce with email, live chat, FAQ bots, social channels and Shopify integration. The customer's order data appears in the sidebar.
Basic is $29 a month for 1 agent, $49 for 2-3. Pro is $69/mo for 1-2 agents, $119 for 3-5, and AI features (Intent Detect, Auto Respond, drafts) are on Pro and up.
Best for: Small teams (1-3 people) that need multichannel support at a lower per-seat price than Richpanel. Re:amaze is the middle ground between Gorgias (volume-based) and Richpanel (high-volume helpdesk). No self-service portal.
If you're comparing helpdesks more broadly
Zendesk: enterprise helpdesk with a Shopify app
Zendesk is a ticketing platform for support teams across every industry. The Shopify integration is an app that shows order data in the ticket sidebar.
Suite Team is $19/agent/mo, Suite Professional $55, Suite Enterprise $115. AI Copilot (drafts and summaries) is $50/agent/mo on top, so the cheapest Zendesk with AI drafts is $69/agent/mo ($19 + $50).
Best for: Larger teams (10+ agents) that need SLA reporting, advanced routing, and integrations beyond Shopify. Setup is longer than Shopify-native alternatives. Small stores should start with simpler options.
Front: shared inbox with channels and workflows
Front is a shared inbox that brings email, SMS, WhatsApp, social channels and live chat into one interface with assignment, collision detection and workflows.
Starter is $25 per seat per month. Team is $45 per seat per month and adds AI Copilot for reply drafts and summaries. Front can show Shopify order data via Zapier or webhooks, but it's not a native integration.
Best for: Shared inbox coordination across channels, rather than a Shopify-specific helpdesk. No self-service portal. For a fuller comparison of shared inbox tools, see best shared inbox software.
When Richpanel is the right choice
Richpanel makes sense when:
- You're doing high volume — 500+ tickets a month — and the $99/agent/mo math works out cheaper than managing that volume manually.
- The self-service portal deflects tickets. If 20-30% of "where's my order" questions get answered by the portal before they reach an agent, that's real cost savings.
- You need deep Shopify integration. Agents can edit orders, issue refunds and cancel shipments inside Richpanel, without switching to Shopify admin.
Richpanel doesn't fit when you're a solo Shopify owner answering 20-50 emails a day from Gmail and the work is mostly order lookups. That's when staying in Gmail with AI drafts feels like less overhead, or switching to a lower-cost helpdesk makes more sense.

Questions
What is the best Richpanel alternative for a small Shopify store?
For small stores answering from Gmail: InboxPilot drafts replies from Shopify orders inside Gmail, from $39/mo flat vs Richpanel's $99/agent/mo minimum. For a full helpdesk with lower per-seat cost: Gorgias ($10-$360/mo by volume), Re:amaze ($29+/mo by agents), or Help Scout ($25/agent/mo).
Why would a store choose a Richpanel alternative?
Three reasons: they're too small for $99/agent/mo minimum (Richpanel is built for scaling stores), they answer from Gmail and don't want to migrate, or they don't need the self-service portal. Richpanel fits high-volume stores; Gmail-based AI or lower-cost helpdesks fit stores under 500 tickets a month.
How much does Richpanel cost for a small store?
Richpanel is $99 per agent per month, billed yearly, with AI features included. That's $1,188/year for one person, or $2,376/year for two. Compared to InboxPilot ($468-$1,188/year flat), Gorgias ($120-$4,320/year by volume), or Help Scout ($300/agent/year). Prices checked October 29, 2026.
Does Richpanel work with Gmail?
Richpanel can receive email sent to a Gmail address, but you work in Richpanel's own interface, not inside Gmail. If you want to stay in Gmail with Shopify order lookups and AI drafts, InboxPilot works natively inside Gmail.
